Oceans around the world keep the global systems that make the Earth livable for humans due to temperature, chemistry, currents and life they have. Our way of managing this vital resource is indispensable for humanity as a whole and also for balancing the effects of climate change. Over three billion people are dependent on the marine and coastal biodiversity to make a living. SDG14 aims to sustainably manage marine and coastal eco-systems, protect them from pollution, and also address the effects of ocean acidification.
