Hacettepe University carries out policy-oriented studies in cooperation with public institutions. Many academics at Hacettepe University provide consultancy services to public institutions and carry out project partnerships.
2024 Türkiye Demographic and Health Survey Project launched
The cooperation protocol for the 2024 Türkiye Demographic and Health Survey Project was signed between the Presidency of Strategy and Budget, TÜBİTAK, Hacettepe University, and Marmara University at a ceremony held at the Strategy and Budget Directorate.
This project, under the presidency of the Strategy and Budget Directorate; It consists of representatives of the Ministries of Family and Social Services, Health and National Education, Turkish Statistical Institute, TÜBİTAK, Presidency of Migration Management, Presidency of Health Institutes of Turkey, Hacettepe University Institute of Population Studies, Marmara University Population and Social Policies Application and Research Center.
The 2024 Türkiye Demographic and Health Survey Project, the 12th of which was launched, was launched to determine the population structure, which is critical in determining the steps to be taken in many areas. This project will reveal the change in birth, death and migration indicators over time, which cannot be obtained from another data source, and the factors that affect this change, and will guide the policies and strategies to be developed in these areas.
The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK) is one of the institutions affiliated with the Ministry of Industry and Technology, which aims to promote and disseminate science and technology in Turkey. Many academics from Hacettepe University carry out projects within TÜBİTAK.
Tübitak 1001 Support from Hacettepe University to five projects
The evaluation process of the projects submitted to the “1001-UDAP National Earthquake Research Program Joint Call” opened within the scope of the 1001-Scientific and Technological Research Projects Support Program carried out by ARDEB and the 2nd stage scientific evaluation results of the projects submitted to the “Sports Research Call” opened within the scope of the ARDEB 1001 program in cooperation with the Ministry of Youth and Sports have been announced.
Two projects submitted to the “1001-UDAP National Earthquake Research Program Joint Call” from our university and three projects submitted to the “1001- Sports Research Call” were deemed worthy of support.
The data on the executives of the projects whose panel evaluation process was concluded positively and the institutions they are affiliated with are presented below.
Prof. Dr. Mete Yıldız will examine the use of artificial intelligence in municipalities with his TÜBİTAK project
The project titled “Touching the Future with Opportunities and Risks: Research on Artificial Intelligence Transformation in Local Policy Design and Service Delivery in Metropolitan Municipalities (BEYAZ)”, presented by Prof. Dr. Mete Yıldız, Faculty Member of the Department of Political Science and Public Administration at the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences of our University, together with 4 colleagues from 2 different universities, was awarded the “100th Anniversary of Our Republic” opened by TÜBİTAK Social and Human Sciences Research and Support Group (SOBAG). It was entitled to be supported within the scope of the “Special Call of the Year”.
With the BEYAZ project, it is aimed to investigate the use of artificial intelligence in local policy design and service delivery in municipalities within the scope of selected metropolitan municipalities.
Cooperation for Training, Research and Consultancy Studies in the Field of Occupational Health and Safety
A cooperation protocol was signed with the University and the Ministry of Labor and Social Security on education, research and consultancy in the field of “Occupational Health and Safety” within the body of Hacettepe University Institute of Public Health. This protocol covers the provisions regarding the preparation and execution of training programs in accordance with the needs and requirements, especially postgraduate education programs for the personnel working within the ministry.

Academic Cooperation between the General Directorate of Security Criminal Department and the Gendarmerie General Command Criminal Presidency
An academic cooperation protocol was signed between Hacettepe University, the Criminal Department of the General Directorate of Security and the Criminal Department of the Gendarmerie General Command. This cooperation includes the activities for the opening of graduate and doctoral programs that will be needed in the field of forensic sciences by the University.
