16.2.3 – Does your university as a body have written policies and procedures to identify local stakeholders external to the university and engage with them?

Hacettepe University cooperates with stakeholders to increase the quality of leadership, management and quality, education, research and development and social contribution studies and to contribute to the development of the University. Advisory Boards have been established to ensure the sustainability of this cooperation and to share experience, and the procedures and principles of the work carried out in this context have been determined by official procedures.

Hacettepe University’s 2023-2027 Strategic Plan includes a “Stakeholder Prioritization Table” that includes the stakeholders of the University within the scope of stakeholder analysis. In this table, persons, groups or institutions that are directly or indirectly affected by the activities of the University or that affect the University with the activities they carry out; grouped according to importance, degree of impact and priority. With the awareness that stakeholder contribution is the most important tool to ensure participation in the plan, the University conducts external stakeholder surveys to the institutions and organizations it interacts with. By taking the opinions of the stakeholders regarding the services provided by the university; Strategic planning is created in a healthy way and the participation of stakeholders in decision-making processes is ensured. The processes carried out regarding stakeholders work in an integrated manner with the Hacettepe University Integrated Quality Assurance System. These processes are evaluated in the Institutional Internal Evaluation Report prepared every year.

Protocols with Local Stakeholders

Hacettepe University works in cooperation with local and national governments. It takes part in studies on the Sustainable Development Goals and develops solution-oriented approaches by analyzing the difficulties encountered in this context.

The cooperation protocol for the 2024 Türkiye Demographic and Health Survey Project was signed between the Presidency of Strategy and Budget, TÜBİTAK, Hacettepe University, and Marmara University. The 2024 Türkiye Demographic and Health Survey Project, the 12th of which was launched, was launched to determine the population structure, which is critical in determining the steps to be taken in many areas.

  • Cooperation for Training, Research and Consultancy Studies in the Field of Occupational Health and Safety

A cooperation protocol was signed with the University and the Ministry of Labor and Social Security on education, research and consultancy in the field of “Occupational Health and Safety” within the body of Hacettepe University Institute of Public Health. This protocol covers the provisions regarding the preparation and execution of training programs in accordance with the needs and requirements, especially postgraduate education programs for the personnel working within the ministry.

  • Cooperation with Ankara Bar Association in the Field of Health Law

A cooperation protocol has been signed between Hacettepe University Health Law Practice and Research Center and Ankara Bar Association Health Law Board for cooperation and joint studies.

  • Cooperation with the Human Rights Equality Institution of Turkey in the Field of Human Rights

With the cooperation protocol signed between Hacettepe University and the Human Rights Equality Institution of Turkey (TİHEK), it is aimed to share knowledge and experience and organize joint activities on the protection and promotion of human rights and freedoms, combating discrimination and preventing ill-treatment. The protocol, which was signed in 2022, continues in 2024.

  • Academic Cooperation between the General Directorate of Security Criminal Department and the Gendarmerie General Command Criminal Presidency

An academic cooperation protocol was signed between Hacettepe University, the Criminal Department of the General Directorate of Security and the Criminal Department of the Gendarmerie General Command. This cooperation includes the activities for the opening of graduate and doctoral programs that will be needed in the field of forensic sciences by the University.

  • Cooperation Protocol Between Hacettepe University and Yuvam Dünya Association

A cooperation protocol has been signed between Hacettepe University and Yuvam Dünya Association to encourage and develop mutual cooperation and common understanding. Within the scope of this protocol, it is aimed to draw a common framework in awareness, education, research and implementation activities to be carried out on the climate crisis.

Academic Unit Advisory Boards

Hacettepe University establishes academic unit advisory boards at the faculty level. University; It makes improvements in this direction by making use of the experiences, opinions and suggestions of the members of these boards, which consist of representatives of the public, private sector and non-governmental organizations. The membership structure and activities of these boards are regularly reviewed and updated by the University’s Quality Management Office.
