Public Events:
Hacettepe University organizes public events, educational sessions, panels, conferences, seminars, and community education activities throughout the year. Conference halls located on both campuses of the university are used for such events and training sessions. (Beytepe Campus: Tunçalp Özgen Congress and Cultural Center and Sıhhıye Campus: Hacettepe University Sıhhıye Cultural Center). Faculties also have their own halls.
Our university’s goal is to encourage knowledge sharing, share the university’s expertise, and interact with the local community. All these events are shared with the public in the events section on our university’s homepage. All events are free and open to the public.
Hacettepe University Institute of Population Studies organizes regular monthly conferences and training sessions open to the public. The Demography Conferences series continued throughout 2024. The first conference of 2024 was held on January 31, 2024, on environmental degradation and migration. Another conference organized by the Institute was held on April 4, 2024. The topic of the conference was population policies in Third World Countries and Turkey in the 1950s and 1960s.
Demography Conferences:
As part of a series of public conferences, an online conference was held to mark “February 9th Quit Smoking Day.” The conference was organized by Hacettepe University’s Social Responsibility Research and Application Center, Hacettepe University Tobacco Control, Training, Implementation and Research Center, and Hacettepe University Commission for the Fight Against Addiction.
Hand in Hand for a Tobacco-Free University Conference:
As part of International Women’s Day, the “Faculty of Architecture Architecture Conferences: International Women’s Day: ‘Art, Women, and Space – 1’” conference was held. Art history researcher Prof. Dr. Jale Nejdet Erzen participated as a speaker at the conference. The conference aimed to highlight the unity of the architecture profession with art through the concepts of art, women, and space, and to draw attention to the role of women in this unity.
Faculty of Architecture – Architecture Talks:
On April 30, 2024, Hacettepe University’s Child Development Research and Application Center and the Department of Child Development at the Faculty of Health Sciences jointly held a panel titled “Supporting Children and Families in the Post-Earthquake Process: A Developmental Perspective – The Case of Malatya Province.” Following the earthquake that struck our country in 2023, the panel, held to support families and children affected by the earthquake in Malatya Province, addressed topics such as identifying developmental needs, developmental assessment, emotion-focused support, and language development interventions.

Hacettepe Law Events & Seminars:
Hacettepe University Faculty of Law organizes regular seminars every month with the aim of creating an informative sharing and discussion environment on various topics related to the field of law.
Sustainable Campuses Coordinatorship – Sustainability Seminars & Educational Series
Hacettepe University Sustainable Campuses Coordinatorship regularly organizes “Sustainability Seminars and Training Series” throughout the year. The seminars and training sessions are open to the public and free of charge. On May 15, 2024, a seminar was held on “Sustainable Forest Ecosystems in the Age of Climate Change.”
The seminar held on May 27, 2024, as part of the Sustainability Seminars series aimed to shed light on today’s ecological problems with an interdisciplinary perspective and comparative studies and to draw attention to the reflections of ecological restoration and sustainability in literature.
In the Sustainability Seminar Series, a seminar on “Net Zero Emission Targets and Sustainable Electricity Production” was held on June 3, 2024. On June 10, 2024, a seminar titled “Towards Sustainable University Campuses: The Beytepe Example” was held. On November 27, 2024, training on Hacettepe University’s Zero Waste and Waste Management Practices was organized. The training defined the principles of zero waste and discussed the importance of these principles in reducing environmental impacts and the steps taken by the university in this context.

Hacettepe University Biodiversity Museum Events
Hacettepe University Biodiversity Museum organized an event titled “Biodiversity, Agriculture, and Children” on the first anniversary of the Biosphere Museum. The event, held at the Hacettepe University Biosphere Museum, was attended by 100 children and featured activities and information sessions on the topic of “Agriculture and Children.”

Health Events
Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine regularly holds public information sessions and conferences. On May 29, 2024, Hacettepe University Center for Genomics and Rare Diseases (HÜGEN), Hacettepe University Center for Stem Cell Research and Development (PEDI-STEM), and the Rare Diseases Federation, in collaboration with speakers from the Ministry of Health, UNICEF, and WHO, organized the “Hand in Hand for the Rare” meeting. The aim of the meeting was to bring together our most important stakeholders in the field of rare diseases, namely patients, patient families, patient associations, non-governmental organizations, policymakers, clinicians, and researchers working in this field, and to contribute to raising awareness of these diseases in society.
Hacettepe University MS (Multiple Sclerosis) Research and Application Center organized an informational meeting on “MS Diet Approaches and Applications” on May 29, 2024.
The event organized in collaboration with the “Hacettepe University Addiction Prevention Commission” and the “Hacettepe University Tobacco Control, Training, Implementation and Research Center and Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine Scientific Research Community” was held on May 30-31, 2024, as part of the World No Tobacco Day Events.


European Researchers’ Night – STEM & Makers Fest/Expo event
Hacettepe University hosted the European Researchers’ Night – STEM & Makers Fest/Expo event at the Beytepe Tunçalp Özgen Congress Center on September 27–28, 2024. The event was open to the public and free of charge, offering science workshops, talks, and interactive learning activities for children, young people, and adults.

Hacettepe University Career Center events:
Hacettepe University Career Center, in collaboration with seven student groups from our university, organized a career fair on campus on March 7–8, 2024. The fairs are held regularly every year. They are open to students from outside Hacettepe and are free of charge. The purpose of the fairs is to bring together employers from different sectors and university students to provide informative sessions on career development and create job opportunities.
