Open and Public Access to Learning Resources

Hacettepe University considers strengthening open and accessible learning opportunities for society as an institutional responsibility. The university provides a variety of educational resources that individuals can access free of charge, both in physical and digital environments.

Hacettepe Open Course Materials (HUADM) is an electronic platform where lecture notes, presentations, and instructional content are made publicly available. The platform is open to everyone without requiring university affiliation, registration, or any payment. HUADM is a member of the Turkish OpenCourseWare Consortium and aims to offer open, sustainable, and free learning resources to educators, students, and lifelong learners worldwide.

In addition, the Hacettepe University Open Access System digitally archives academic outputs such as books, articles, theses, proceedings, and reports produced within the university and provides access to them in accordance with international standards and copyright regulations. This enables external researchers and students to directly benefit from academic knowledge produced at the university.

Individuals without a Hacettepe University institutional ID may benefit from the university libraries as “External Users.”Library access for external users is provided under specific usage rules, which are publicly shared on the official website of the Hacettepe University Library Department.

Library services available to external users include:

  • Use of reading and study rooms
  • On-site use of printed and electronic collections
  • Reference and user support services
  • Free document scanning services
  • Access to computer laboratories and wireless internet

 

Furthermore, the Hacettepe University Lifelong Learning Center offers both paid and free thematic training programs designed to support personal and professional development across different age and occupational groups. These programs are certified, and announcements regarding upcoming courses are made publicly through the official website of the Lifelong Learning Center.
