Hacettepe University directly participates in the development of SDG policy by national government and regional non-governmental organizations. By cooperating with public institutions and regional non-governmental organizations; It takes an active role in all processes from identifying problems and challenges, developing policies and strategies, modeling the future, monitoring and reporting interventions.

Cooperation Protocol Between Hacettepe University and Yuvam Dünya Association
A cooperation protocol has been signed between Hacettepe University and Yuvam Dünya Association to encourage and develop mutual cooperation and common understanding. Within the scope of this protocol, it is aimed to draw a common framework in awareness, education, research and implementation activities to be carried out on the climate crisis.

Cooperation Protocol Between Hacettepe University and Hayat Holding
After the earthquake in Turkey, a cooperation protocol was signed between Hacettepe University and Hayat Holding in order to shape corporate and social responsibility projects in the fields of providing care and psycho-social support in the field of health to the people living in the earthquake zone (children, adults and the elderly), conducting geological and ecological studies in the earthquake zone and sharing the results of the study with the public. as a result of this cooperation, the Life Good Life Center was put into operation.

Hacettepe University Women’s Issues Application and Research Center (HUKSAM); With the cooperation of the relevant departments and units of the university; to develop sensitivity to women’s problems, to monitor and announce research in every field related to women’s problems at home and abroad, to conduct research in various fields within the framework of our goals, to carry out educational activities, to guide studies, researches and programs related to women’s health to place a “gender perspective”; It works to support and develop the studies carried out with this perspective.
Hacettepe University Genomics and Rare Diseases Application and Research Center
Hacettepe University Genomics and Rare Diseases Application and Research Center (HÜGEN) operates in order to use the genomics technologies infrastructure effectively in the field of rare diseases, to obtain the basic findings of early diagnosis and new treatment methods, and to transform research in the field of health into personal treatment and innovation activities.
On February 27, 2025, the “Rare Diseases in the Year of the Family: Together for Healthy Generations” panel was organized in collaboration with the Executive Board of Hacettepe University Genome Sciences and Rare Diseases Application and Research Center (HÜGEN) and the Rare Diseases Federation, under the slogan “We Are Rare, We Are Among You, Together We Are Strong.”
Organized by the federation, which works to ensure that individuals living with rare diseases have equal and fair access to all aspects of life, the panel brought together policymakers, healthcare professionals, non-governmental organizations, individuals living with rare diseases, and their families.
Hacettepe Institute of Population Studies
Hacettepe Institute of Population Studies (HIPS) produces nationally representative data and statistics that are used in defining population, health, social and public policies and in evaluating public services. The Institute conducts joint projects, surveys and training programmes with the Ministry of Development, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Family and Social Services, the Ministry of Interior and the Turkish Statistical Institute. As the only institution of its kind in Türkiye and operating in line with international standards, it is widely recognised both nationally and internationally and has strong international connections.
In 2013, HIPS signed a cooperation protocol with the United Nations Eastern European and Central Asian Regional Office (UN-EECARO) and has acted as an implementing partner for population-related studies in countries across the region. The Institute continues these activities as an implementing partner of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) Turkey Office under a cooperation protocol signed in 2016. HIPS is also a member of the European Association for Population Studies (EAPS). A specialised Documentation Centre, established concurrently with the Institute, brings together all domestic and international publications on population and related issues, providing a comprehensive resource for researchers and policy-makers. These details are explicitly stated and publicly shared in the Strategic Plan of the Institute of Population Studies for the 2023–2027 period.
Demographic and Health Survey Series:
Since 1968, the Hacettepe Institute of Population Studies has conducted nationwide field surveys at roughly five-year intervals, providing a rich and comparable source of demographic data for Türkiye. Earlier rounds were implemented under different titles, and since 1993 they have been carried out under the name “Turkey Demographic and Health Survey (TNSA)”. The eleventh round, the 2018 Turkey Demographic and Health Survey (2018 TNSA), has been published on the Institute’s website and made publicly available.
