Excavations at Arslantepe
The Ministry of Culture and Tourism has appointed Assoc. Prof. Dr. Halil Tekin, a faculty member of the Department of Archaeology, as the “Coordinator” for the Arslantepe excavations carried out by “La Sapienza” Universita di Roma since 1961 within the scope of the “Heritage for the Future” project. The Ministry of Culture and Tourism has appointed Turkish scientists as “Coordinators” for 28 archaeological excavations carried out by foreign delegations within the borders of our country within the scope of the “Heritage to the Future” project. Among them, Malatya Arslantepe excavations have been carried out by the “La Sapienza” Universita di Roma since 1961 and were included in the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage list in 2021. With the decision dated 11.01.2024, the Ministry appointed our faculty member Assoc. Prof. Dr. Halil Tekin as the “Coordinator” for the Arslantepe excavations.
Excavations at Çine – Tepecik
The Çine – Tepecik excavations, which were carried out in order to illuminate the cultural history of the settlement process from 6500 BC to 1100 BC, are carried out under the chairmanship of our faculty member Prof. Dr. Sevinç Günel on behalf of Hacettepe University with the decision of the Council of Ministers and the official permissions of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Mirici was appointed as the chairman of WCCI
Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Mirici, Director of the Institute of Educational Sciences of our University, has been appointed as the President of the World Council for Curriculum and Instruction (WCCI), a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) accredited to the United Nations. WCCI, a 50-year-old well-established international education organization with units in many countries of the world; works for a just, peaceful and sustainable world.
The new president of TÜSEB is Prof. Dr. Hakan Eroğlu
Prof. Dr. Hakan Eroğlu, a faculty member of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Department of Pharmaceutical Technology, Department of Pharmaceutical Technology, became the new president of the Presidency of Health Institutes of Turkey (TÜSEB).
2024 Türkiye Demographic and Health Survey Project launched
The cooperation protocol for the 2024 Türkiye Demographic and Health Survey Project was signed between the Presidency of Strategy and Budget, TÜBİTAK, Hacettepe University, and Marmara University at a ceremony held at the Strategy and Budget Directorate. The 2024 Türkiye Demographic and Health Survey Project, the 12th of which was launched, was launched to determine the population structure, which is critical in determining the steps to be taken in many areas. Speaking at the ceremony, Director of Strategy and Budget İbrahim Şenel stated that the research reveals the change in birth, death and migration indicators over time, which cannot be obtained from another data source, the factors that are effective in this change, and directs the policies and strategies to be developed in these areas.
Prof. Dr. Levent Özçakar was elected as the vice president of the International Society of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation
Prof. Dr. Levent Özçakar, Head of the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the Faculty of Medicine of our University, at the World Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (FTR) Congress held in Sydney, Australia; He was elected as the vice president of the International Society of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Medicine (ISPRM) by receiving more votes than the total of 4 candidates, England, France, Belgium and Portugal.
Prof. Dr. Seza Özen was elected President of the European Society of Pediatric Rheumatology
Prof. Dr. Seza Özen, a faculty member of the Department of Pediatric Rheumatology at the Faculty of Medicine of our University, was elected as the President of the “European Pediatric Rheumatology European Society” with the voting held in the Netherlands last year. Prof. Dr. Özen took over the position in Sweden in September 2024.
Prof. Dr. Aslı Özkırım was elected as the Chairman of the EBA Bee Health Scientific Board
Hacettepe University Biology Department Faculty Member and Bee and Bee Products Application and Research Center (HARÜM) Director Prof. Dr. Aslı Özkırım was elected as the Chairman of the Bee Health Science Board of the European Beekeeping Federation (EBA https://ebaeurope.eu/). Although there are no Faculties of Veterinary Medicine and Agriculture, Hacettepe University, which is a leader in many fields in the field of Beekeeping; He will preside over the decision-making processes and practices regarding the researches, projects, legislation and criteria to be prepared in Europe on bee health. Our faculty member will continue to serve as the chairman of the EBA Bee Health Science Board, which has 358,962 members from 40 countries, for 4 years. In addition, Prof. Dr. Aslı Özkırım has been serving as the vice president of the Honey Bee Colony Loss Prevention Platform (COLOSS-www.coloss.org), which has 2258 scientists from 127 countries as members since 2022.
IV. Insurance and Corporate Law Symposium was held
Under the leadership of the Department of Commercial Law of the Faculty of Law of our University, the 4th and 11th Chambers of the Court of Cassation. IV. Insurance and Corporate Law Symposium was held on 11-12 October 2024 with the contributions of Law Departments, Insurance Private Pension Regulation and Supervision Board, and the Insurance Association of Türkiye.
Many members of the Court of Cassation, judges, academics, insurance arbitrators and lawyers attended the symposium. Symposium; First Deputy President of the Court of Cassation and President of the General Assembly of Civil Chambers Adem Albayrak, Chairman of the Insurance Private Pension Regulation and Supervision Board Davut Menteş, Rector of KAEU Prof. Dr. Mehmet Cahit Güran and Dean of the Faculty of Law Prof. Dr. Rauf Karasu made opening speeches.
At the symposium, a total of 21 papers on current problems of insurance and corporate law were presented by members of the Court of Cassation, academics and insurance arbitrators. The symposium, which continued for 2 days, was broadcast live on YouTube.
The 38th International Finance Symposium was held
The 38th International Finance Symposium was held between 17-20 October 2024 under the leadership of the Department of Finance of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences of our university with the contributions of TÜBİTAK and the CBRT. The opening speeches of the symposium were made by our Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet Cahit Güran and Head of the Department of Finance Prof. Dr. Erdem Seçil.
Prof. Dr. Kai A. Konrad and Prof. Dr. Ercan Uygur took part in the symposium as guest speakers, and Prof. Dr. Özgür Teoman, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Department of Economics, attended the symposium as the Academician Representative of our university.
Academicians from 53 different universities and finance scientist bureaucrats from public institutions such as the Ministry of Treasury and Finance, the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, the Court of Accounts, the CBRT, TPAO, the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change attended the symposium, where 94 papers were presented.
