At Hacettepe University, broad stakeholder representation is fundamental at the senior management level and in committees and commissions at the unit level. The primary governance bodies are the Senate and the Board of Directors. These bodies include elected deans representing the faculties, faculty representatives, and student representatives (including the student council representative, the international student representative, and the representative for students with disabilities). Hacettepe University is a public university governed by Higher Education Law No. 2547. Pursuant to Article 14 of this law, Senate members are elected and serve a three-year term. The Student Representative Council is formed each year through elections held at the department, faculty, and institute levels. The elections are conducted by an independent student council.
