SDG 5 - Gender Equality

5.6.7 – Does your university as a body have measurement/tracking of women’s likelihood of graduating compared to men’s, and schemes in place to close any gap?

Hacettepe University systematically monitors gender gaps in student success and implements targeted measures to close any disparities.

  • Systematic monitoring of student success by gender:
The Student Affairs Unit tracks all key rates and numbers each year to monitor the performance and progression of male and female students.

  • Annual institutional reporting and target setting:
The Strategy Development Directorate publishes an annual report comparing detailed student figures by gender (e.g. pages 75–80), and new strategies and targets are set based on these findings.

  • External statistical transparency (YÖK Atlas):
Statistical data for all educational programs at Hacettepe University are shared through the Council of Higher Education’s Atlas system, including gender-disaggregated information.

  • Alumni tracking systems:
The university monitors graduate outcomes and maintains its relationship with alumni through dedicated alumni tracking systems.

  • Hacettepe University Gender Equality Current Situation Analysis Report (2018–2021) & Gender Equality Action Plan (2022-2026)

Graduation, retention and progression trends by gender are analysed, and the Gender Equality Action Plan defines evidence-based interventions to prevent or close gaps. This study was published in 2022 and new term studies are being carried out.
