Hacettepe University shares its sports facilities with the local community. Through its ‘Sports for All’ framework, the university provides access to sports halls, outdoor fields, fitness spaces, and running tracks not only for students and staff but also for local residents and community groups, under defined membership or booking procedures. This approach promotes public health, physical activity, and social well-being in alignment with the university’s community engagement mission.

Hacettepe Atletik

Hacettepe Atletik Sports Facility was opened in July 2024 at the Beytepe Campus with the support of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, in line with Hacettepe University’s Sports-Friendly Campus approach and its vision of “being a center that advances sports with its international standard facilities and expert staff, and shapes sports by training successful athletes with its scientific infrastructure and technology.” Hacettepe Atletik includes a swimming pool and fitness center. All activities at the facility are carried out by the Hacettepe Athletic Sports Center Management Unit under the Office of Health, Culture and Sports. 

Fitness

The Hacettepe Atletik Fitness Centre is a four-storey building with a total usable area of 6,000 m². It features free exercise areas equipped with weight-stacked machines, cable machines, free weights, a CrossFit station, treadmills, recumbent and upright bikes, and elliptical trainers. Basketball, table tennis and squash courts are also available for unrestricted use. There are also studios dedicated to group classes and training in archery, gymnastics, martial arts, Pilates, yoga, dance and spinning. Thanks to its spacious layout and professional equipment, the centre is considered one of Ankara’s premier facilities.

Swimming Pool

The Hacettepe Atletik Swimming Pool has one full Olympic-sized pool (25 m x 50 m) and one warm-up pool (25 m x 7.5 m). With a spacious grandstand with seating for 800 people, the pool has the capacity to host competitions. The swimming pool has three changing rooms for men and three for women. The pool is monitored 24 hours a day by an automated system which measures and adjusts values such as pool water temperature and chemicals, ambient temperature and humidity levels in accordance with health ministry standards.

Beytepe Sports Center

Hacettepe University’s Beytepe campus features a multipurpose sports hall suitable for basketball, volleyball, handball and badminton, as well as a fitness centre and a table tennis room. You can borrow basketballs, volleyballs, handballs, badminton rackets or table tennis paddles by presenting your student or staff ID to the attendant at the information desk.

Beytepe Stadium

Hacettepe University’s Beytepe campus features a stadium with a capacity of 3,995 and an athletics track. You can borrow a football by presenting your student or staff ID at the information desk in the Beytepe Sports Hall.

Beytepe Outdoor Sports Facilities

Hacettepe University’s Beytepe campus has two football pitches, two outdoor tennis courts and two basketball courts.

Beytepe Tent Hall

The tent hall on the Beytepe campus of Hacettepe University contains a tennis court and a basketball court.
